Part of our
Summer Talks series
Following our opening weekend at Rheged, the Eamont 927 Saturday Speaker Series continues throughout July and August at the Parish Rooms, offering an exciting programme of lectures, workshops and special events.
Each Saturday brings a new opportunity to explore the fascinating world of Anglo-Saxon England through talks by leading historians, archaeologists and specialists. From kingship, language and warfare to archaeology, coinage and everyday life, the programme provides fresh insights into the people and events that shaped our nation's history.
Alongside the lectures, visitors can enjoy special features including a tapestry workshop and a dedicated day hosted by the Cumberland & Westmorland Antiquarian and Archaeological Society, making the Parish Rooms a vibrant hub for learning, discussion and discovery throughout the summer.
Whether you attend a single event or the entire series, you'll become part of a unique celebration of the 1,100th anniversary of the historic gathering at Eamont in AD 927. We invite you to join us and discover why this remarkable place occupies such an important chapter in the story of England.
