Brougham Hall is a magnificent medieval building with a fascinating history, set in a stunning countryside location.

Sitting on a natural defensive point overlooking the River Eamont, Brougham Hall will host the Court of King Æthelstan over the weekend 9 to 12 July 2027.

The Birth of England – re-enactors will bring the sights and sounds of 927AD to life in the beautiful surroundings of Brougham Hall. Visitors can explore the grounds, visit artisan studios and enjoy the café. Across the bridge, St Wilfrid’s Chapel will host the Eamont Tapestry and an opportunity to meet ancient rare breed farm animals.

Located just a mile south of Penrith in Cumbria, visitors can explore the Hall from dawn till dusk, while the workshops are open from 10 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week.
