We hope that you are keen to be part of this great celebration and would love to hear from you, particularly if you think that you would like to help. Just attending the events and buying tickets will be great but if you want to get really involved then you could:
Volunteer
This could be with expertise as we develop and organise the various events and projects. Perhaps you could help with stitching and sewing as part of the community artworks, or maybe act as a marshal over the festival weekend. Or even suggest and lead a whole new event/project of your own.
However you’d like to help, just get in touch at admin@eamont927.co.uk
Sponsor
If you live in one of the King’s domains that are too far away to easily reach Eamont, or you are a local person or business wanting to see a fantastic 1100th anniversary celebration of the event, then we would also be very grateful for any financial support. The Tapestry has sponsor opportunities on its own page, as materials for an embroidery that will last hundreds of years are reassuringly expensive. Additional funding is also needed for the stands that will support the panels and information boards.
All the other events and projects also come with their own expense. As examples:
- Printing Leaflets for a heritage trail and making the footpath safe and accessible
- Commissioning items for a museum exhibition such as a replica on vellum of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle passage.
- In fact, from the sublime of obtaining a replica of the first English crown to the practical of hiring fields and conference halls, insurance and toilet facilities we are sure there is somewhere you can help.
We would be grateful for any support; please get in touch at admin@eamont927.co.uk if you can help.
